Research Focus
Comparative and international political economy, U.S.-East Asian relations, and East Asia and China studies. Dr. Wang has published six books (two co-edited) in two languages, of which the most recent one is Organization through Division and Exclusion: Chinas Hukou System (Stanford University Press. 2005). He has also published numerous book chapters, journal articles, and reports in four languages. He is currently working on the political economy of East Asia. Before coming to Georgia Tech, Dr. Wang taught at the U.S. Military Academy (West Point). He has been a Foreign Fellow of the East Asian Institute at the National University of Singapore, an adjunct/honorary professor of the Renmin University of China and Anhui Normal University in China, a visiting fellow at the University of Tokyo in Japan, and a Fulbright Professor in Yonsei University in Korea. He has had grants from several U.S. and foreign sources including an International Affairs Fellowship from the Council on Foreign Relations for the year of 2005-06.
