Research Focus
Dr. Houska was the Schools first Intelligence Officer in Residence (2003-2005). He taught courses on the role of intelligence in U.S. foreign policy and conduct research on international cooperation in intelligence gathering and on verifiable security as it relates to the protection of our critical infrastructure. His over 25 years of U.S. government experience includes senior positions with the Navy , Air Force, and Intelligence Community. Early in his government career, he was a professor at the U.S. Naval Academy in the Department of Weapons and Systems Engineering. He later developed advanced signal processing systems as a technical specialist for the Air Force. Most recently, he has been researching secure computing architectures for various elements of the U.S. Intelligence Community in an effort to develop an affordable and scalable solution for a multi-level, computing environment, one that will permit secure connectivity between Law Enforcement and Intelligence Community information systems.
