Research Focus
The political economy of social policy in Latin America. Dr. Michelle Dion has written a book on the political development of welfare in Mexico since the Revolution based on three years of research in Mexico funded by the Social Science Research Council and the Fulbright Faculty Scholars program. Her research has appeared in Social Policy and Administration, Journal of Latin American Studies, PS: Political Science and Politics, Global Social Policy, Social Politics, Latin American Politics and Society, and other journals. She has been a Visiting Professor at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) in Mexico City and at the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.
