Ashley Bliss, BS EIA '08 recently served as a Field Organizer for the Obama Campaign in the swing state of Ohio. In this role she was responsible for organizing the community to get out the vote on Election Day. Now that the Election has passed, we are glad to have the chance to catch up with Ashley and ask a few questions about her life since she graduated from Tech.

Rafael Corrales, BSIAML '06 is currently pursuing an MBA degree at Harvard Business School. After graduating from Tech, Rafael went to work for Xerox in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). While there, he continued to manage an online tutoring and mentoring company he co-founded while at Tech. We are glad we had the chance to catch up with Rafael and ask him a few questions about his life since Tech.

Tracy Bius Lynge, MS INTA 2000, is currently working as the Executive Officer to the Inspector General for the Social Security Administration. After completing her Masters in International Affairs, Tracy was able to apply for and be accepted into the President Management Fellowship to obtain her position in the SSA. We were delighted that Tracy volunteered to be this semester's feature on our Alumni Spotlight.

Rizwan Ladha is currently pursuing a Master's degree at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (alma mater of our own Professor Emeritus John Endicott!), where he focuses on nuclear security issues. In addition, he manages online communications for the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), and writes a nuclear-themed blog at his own site.

Amanda Shailendra, MS INTA 05, is a Project Manager at the Atlanta Development Authority. Her main focus is on increasing jobs and investment in our city. She works with existing industries inside the city to help them prosper and grow. Additionally, Amanda meets with companies interested in locating a new operation (small, medium, or large companies - industrial, office, or retail) to Atlanta.

Lauren Pinson was honored recently by the former Deputy Secretary of Defense for her work on an 18-month transition project that outlined and tracked the defense priorities for the last 500 days of the Bush administration. She is currently a policy analyst and deputy program manager at Science Applications International Corporation, Inc (SAIC). Her current client advises the Secretary of Defense and Deputy Secretary of Defense on organizational and management arrangements in the Department, as well as tracking the strategic priorities of the DoD.

Kristin Lundberg's current post as a foreign affairs officer at the State Department required 14 interviews over the course of two days for one of only a few hundred fellowship slots coveted by nearly 700 finalists.  She had roughly a 5% chance of getting the job at State, but succeeded.  She works in CO.NX (pronounced “connex”), an office within the Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) at the U.S. State Department. IIP is the State Department’s public diplomacy (PD) communications bureau, leading it's support for U.S.

Betsy Turner is currently an attorney with the law firm of Meyer Moser Lang LLP in Atlanta, Georgia, although her legal practice takes her around the country. She often works with EU- and Latin America-based companies with operations in the US and abroad.

Rashidah C. Hardwick, MSIA '07 has recently been promoted to Senior Consultant after 1 year on the Organization and Strategy team at Booz Allen Hamilton, Ms. Hardwick's past experiences span legal, political, and academic organizations. Prior to joining Booz Allen in January 2008, Ms. Hardwick performed research on the history of U.S. economic incentives to North Korea with Dr. William Long, Chair of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Rob Rolling, MSIA '05, recently completed the two-year Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program, and has accepted a position with Booz Allen Hamilton's Global Security Office, working with a government client on classified projects. Booz Allen is a global strategy and technology consulting firm that provide services to the world's leading corporations, government and other public agencies, emerging growth companies, and institutions. Booz Allen prides itself on providing clients with "results that endure."

Charles Wright, BS IAML '04, is currently a refugee officer, with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. After graduating from Tech, Charles went to Mexico for a year to work in a nonprofit. He then decided to continue his studies by earning a Masters in foreign service at Georgetown University, with a focus on U.S. foreign policy. We are glad we had the chance to catch up with Charles and ask him a few questions about his life since Tech.

Amy Fairchild Haer, IAML '03 is currently a third-year law student at George Washington University, working in civil rights law with regards to immigrants. Doing well with technical and liberal arts, Amy views law as a good hybrid of the two. She finds it to be a career path where she has the opportunity to make a difference in many lives. After law school, she plans to do political asylum work in an immigration nonprofit.

Lance Stubblefield, MS IA 2001, almost missed being in the publication of our first online alumni spotlight due to travels through Japan. We're glad we got a chance to catch up with him and ask him a few questions about his life since Tech. Lance is currently a project manager (Asia Pacific and the Middle East) with the Office of Export Control Policy and Cooperation at the National Nuclear Security Administration. He received a Recognition Award for Excellence in his first year with his current office.
