About Us
Letter from the Chair
Welcome to The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, the only school of its kind at a major technological university in the United States. Created in 1990 and named in honor of former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn in 1996, the Sam Nunn School is committed to a new model of professional education in international affairs that is theoretically grounded and practice- and policy-oriented.
The School's programs focus on understanding the global context of advances in science and technology and on preparing students to address pressing concerns at the nexus of science, technology, and international affairs. Our alumni are making a difference in the fields of international business, domestic and foreign policy analysis, law, international security, foreign diplomacy, communications, human rights advocacy, education, and city, state, and federal government.
The School offers BS and professional MS degrees, as well as a minor in international affairs and certificate programs in Asian affairs, European affairs, European Union studies, and Latin American affairs. Undergraduate and graduate students may also participate in School-sponsored summer programs in Europe, Argentina, Brazil, East Asia, and Mexico.
I hope you enjoy your visit to our Web site. I invite you to learn more about our academic programs, outstanding faculty, upcoming conferences and events, student organizations, and alumni activities. We also encourage you to visit us in person on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
